Many destinations such as East Africa hike their prices for air fares in July/August as this is seen as ‘peak season’. Volunteering abroad at any time of the year is perfectly possible providing you do the research that is needed to get you there for a reasonable cost. In this day and age very few people have money to burn so ‘research’ is key to success! Do not let the prices deter you as once you get out there and get involved in the projects your life will change for the better and it also looks great on your CV.
